CHARGES LAID FOLLOWING SIMCOE THREATS INVESTIGATION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged following an investigation involving stolen property and uttering threats in Simcoe.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 9:58 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft in progress involving an e-bike near the intersection of West Street and Head Street South.
Officers located a suspect nearby who was found in possession of the stolen e-bike and was taken into custody without incident. The investigation further revealed that, prior to police arrival, the individual had made threats toward the owner of the e-bike as well as another person.
As a result, 46-year-old Mark DASILVA of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm - two counts, - Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, - Failure to comply with Release Order
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
