TWO CHARGED IN SEPARATE INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATIONS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals have been charged in connection with separate intimate partner violence investigations.
On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 10:26 am, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at a Norfolk County address.
The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction inside a residence on the property, during which one person assaulted the other, resulting in minor injuries. During the investigation, officers also learned that the victim had previously been assaulted and threatened by the same individual at a separate location in Norfolk County.
As a result, a 36-year-old Norfolk County resident was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:
- Assault - spousal - four counts, - Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm - spousal
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, at approximately 3:11 pm, officers responded to a separate Norfolk County address following a report of an assault.
The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction inside a residence on the property, during which one person assaulted and threatened the other and caused damage to their property. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, officers also learned that the victim had previously been assaulted by the same individual at separate locations in Haldimand County and Stratford, Ontario.
As a result, a 37-year-old Norfolk County resident was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:
- Assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle - three counts, - Assault with a weapon, - Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, - Dangerous operation, - Mischief under $5,000
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
