OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - A fatal crash has claimed the life of a driver.
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 12:07 pm, members of the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with fire and emergency medical services and Ornge responded to a collision involving a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a pickup truck at the intersection of Villa Nova Road and Concession 3 in Townsend.
The driver of the pickup, a 75-year-old from Norfolk County suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the SUV and two passengers were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries, OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are on scene and are assisting with the investigation. The roadway is anticipated to be closed for the next 4 to 6 hours while officers continue to investigate.
