OPP INVESTIGATING ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN SIMCOE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating an individual connected to an ongoing attempted robbery investigation in Simcoe.
On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 6:10 am, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with support from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, responded to a report of an attempted robbery at a business on Queensway West in Simcoe.
The investigation determined that shortly after 6:00 am, a Caucasian female, believed to be in her mid-to-late 20s with a thin build, entered the business wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants, black and white footwear, a black face covering, and either a pink toque or a pink hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. The individual demanded money from an employee while brandishing an edged weapon and attempted to steal merchandise. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.
The individual was last observed travelling southbound toward North Main Street.
Police are actively conducting an ongoing investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance. Residents in the area are encouraged to check their home surveillance or security camera systems for any footage that appears related.
