STREET CRIME UNIT EXECUTES SEARCH WARRANT

Two Individuals Charged - Firearms and drugs Seized, Stolen Property Recovered

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals have been charged in connection with a stolen property investigation led by the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 6:00 am, members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, with support from the Brant/Oxford and Elgin/Middlesex CSCUs, as well as the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a property on Windham Road 14 in Simcoe as part of a stolen property investigation.

Upon entering the property, officers took two individuals into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the residence and surrounding area led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, Canadian currency, and various drug-related paraphernalia. In addition, officers seized firearms, replica firearms, and assorted ammunition. A quantity of stolen property was also recovered, including motorcycles, side-by-side utility vehicles, trailers, and motorized equipment.

As a result, 45-year-old Travis JAMES of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, - Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, - Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), - Possession of break-in instruments, - Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose - two counts, - Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose - two counts, - Unauthorized possession of a firearm - two counts, - Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada - two counts, - Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada - five counts

Also charged is 43-year-old Jodi-Lyn JAMES of Norfolk County, with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - cocaine, - Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, - Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, - Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada - two counts, - Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada - four counts

The accused individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
