SIMCOE ASSAULT INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN MULTIPLE CHARGES

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged following a recent assault investigation in Simcoe.
On Friday, April 24, 2026, at approximately 5:50 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at a location on Water Street in Simcoe.
The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction in the area, during which one assaulted the other with a weapon, causing minor injuries. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
The next day, officers located the suspect on West Street in Simcoe and took them into custody. During a search of the individual, officers seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
As result, 24-year-old Malcom EVANS of Hamilton, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Fail to comply with Probation Order - four counts, - Obstruct Peace Officer - two counts, - Assault with a weapon, - Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, - Administer noxious thing with intent to aggrieve or annoy, - Possession of a Schedule I substance - other drugs
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
