OFFICERS RESPOND TO SEPARATE REPORTS OF SUSPECTED IMPAIRED DRIVING
Two Individuals Charged
(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals are facing charges following separate impaired driving investigations.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at approximately 7:34 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver on Old Highway 24 in Waterford.
Officers located the vehicle and, after speaking with the driver, took the individual into custody without incident.
As a result, 46-year-old Omadath GAJADHAR of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, - Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Drive motor vehicle - no licence
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Police located the vehicle and, following an interaction with the driver, the individual was taken into custody without incident. During a subsequent search, officers seized a quantity of suspected illicit drugs.
As a result, 42-year-old Christopher THOMPSON of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand, - Possession of a Schedule I substance - other drugs, - Fail to comply with Probation Order
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
