TWO CHARGED IN SEPARATE INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATIONS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals have been charged in connection with separate intimate partner violence investigations.
On Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 11:53 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at a Norfolk County address.
The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction inside a residence on the property, during which one individual assaulted the other and damaged property belonging to the victim. No injuries were reported.
As a result, a 32-year-old Norfolk County resident was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:
- Assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate, strangle, - Mischief - destroys or damages property
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, at approximately 3:25 pm, officers responded to a separate report of an assault at another address in Norfolk County.
The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction inside a residence on the property, during which one individual assaulted the other, resulting in minor injuries.
As a result, a 74-year-old Norfolk County resident was arrested and charged with the following alleged offence:
- Assault - spousal
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
