On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 6:30 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported theft on Kent Street North in Simcoe.

The investigation determined that between 6:00 and 6:30 pm that day, one or more unidentified individuals unlawfully entered a vehicle on the property and stole a grey backpack containing an Alienware laptop.

On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at approximately 11:52 pm, officers responded to a similar theft on Windham Street in Simcoe.

The investigation determined that sometime overnight, one or more unidentified individuals unlawfully entered a vehicle on the property and stole a grey backpack containing bank cards, personal identification, and sets of keys.

The OPP is reminding residents to ensure their vehicles are locked and that all valuables are removed. Anyone who observes suspicious activity is encouraged to contact police.
