OVERDUE BOATERS LOCATED DECEASED IN LAKE ERIE

7-Year-Old Child and 53-Year-Old Adult Located Deceased

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - A 7-year-old child and a 53-year-old adult, both from Norfolk County, have been located deceased in the waters of Lake Erie after being reported overdue.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, at approximately 3:46 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment, along with the Canadian Coast Guard, Port Dover station, responded to a report of overdue boaters near Townline Street in St. Williams.

While emergency crews responded to the area, both individuals were located by a passing boater approximately two nautical miles from shore. The Canadian Coast Guard attended and recovered both individuals from the water.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
