DRIVER ARRESTED DURING RIDE PROGRAM IN COURTLAND

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged following an impaired driving investigation in Courtland.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 12:45 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Main Street of Courtland when a vehicle was stopped and the driver was assessed for sobriety.
Following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, 26-year-old Dawson DESCAMPS of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
