TWO DRIVERS CHARGED IN SEPARATE COLLISIONS INVOLVING IMPAIRED DRIVING

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals have been charged in connection with separate impaired driving collisions.
At approximately 10:09 pm on Friday, July 18, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Concession 13 Townsend in Simcoe. No injuries were reported.
After conducting a roadside sobriety test on the SUV driver, officers took the individual into custody without incident.
As a result, 49-year-old Elvis HOWE of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Careless driving
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
At approximately 6:49 pm on Sunday, July 20, 2025, the Norfolk County OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Nixon Road in Simcoe.
Through investigation, it was determined that the pickup was travelling along Nixon Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.
Following an interaction with the driver, officers took the individual into custody without incident.
As a result, 31-year-old Samuel CATRY of Frontenac County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, - Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
