YOUTH CHARGED IN ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - A youth has been charged following an assault investigation in Walsingham.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, at approximately 7:03 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at a residence on South Street in Walsingham.
The investigation determined that an interaction occurred between two individuals inside the residence, during which one individual threatened and assaulted the other, and caused damage to property within the home. It was further determined that the victim had been assaulted previously by the same individual. The victim sustained minor injuries.
As a result, a 15-year-old Norfolk County resident was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:
- Assault, - Assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate, or strangle, - Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, - Mischief - destroys or damages property, - Fail to comply with sentence
The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
