DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION DURING RIDE CHECK

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual was charged in connection with an impaired driving investigation in Simcoe.
On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at approximately 12:34 am, officers from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Cockshutt Road in Simcoe when they stopped a vehicle and evaluated the driver’s sobriety.
After administering a roadside sobriety test, officers took the individual into custody without incident
As a result, 38-year-old Eryc SHAVER of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, - Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
