(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) -The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a collision in Simcoe.
On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 1:36 pm, members of the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a police cruiser and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the intersection of Norfolk Street North and Riverside Road in Simcoe.
The police officer was transported to hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the SUV was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
