(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged in connection with a recent theft investigation in Simcoe.

On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 2:49 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an attempted theft at an address on Victoria Street in Simcoe.

The investigation determined that an individual attended the property during the overnight hours and attempted to unlawfully enter a vehicle. While entry was not gained, officers later learned that the same individual targeted additional vehicles in the area, stealing wallets and vehicle documents.

On the following day, at approximately 8:35 am, officers located the suspect at an address on Homewood Avenue in Simcoe and took them into custody without incident.

As a result, 24-year-old Brandon MOREAU of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle, - Disobeying order of court

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
