DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING DURING RIDE PROGRAM

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged following an impaired driving investigation in Port Ryerse.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at approximately 1:36 pm, Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Front Road in Port Ryerse when they stopped a vehicle to assess the driver’s sobriety.
As a result of the interaction, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
Charged with the following alleged offences is 26-year-old Jamey BARNES of Norfolk County:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, - Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
