CHARGE LAID FOLLOWING ASSAULT INVESTIGATION IN ERIN

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - An individual has been charged in connection with an assault investigation in Erin.
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an altercation at a residence on Laurel Lane in Erin.
The investigation determined that two people were involved in an interaction, during which one assaulted the other and damaged property. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, Shawn JOHNSTONE, a 43-year-old from Erin was charged with:
- Assault
- Mischief Under $5,000
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on October 14, 2025.
