TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO CHARGES

Four Charges Laid

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - Kitchener resident facing four charges.

On March 25, 2026, at approximately 12:30 am, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, when a motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and a traffic stop being conducted on Campbell Road within Centre Wellington Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old from Kitchener is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

  • Speeding 1 - 49 km/h over posted limit
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
