Three Individuals Charged
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - Three individuals have been charged following a traffic stop in Centre Wellington.
On April 12, 2026, at approximately 1:00 am, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting proactive traffic patrol on Wellington Road 18 within Centre Wellington Township, when they initiated a traffic stop of a speeding vehicle.
Upon initiating the traffic stop, the officer observed cannabis within the vehicle and determined that two passengers were in breach of their respective Release Orders.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old from Scarborough, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act, the Cannabis Control Act with:
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Class G1 driver - drive at unlawful hour
- Driver fail to surrender licence
- 1-49 km/h over posted limit
The accused received over $650 worth of fines, four demerit points and their vehicle was towed.
Additionally, Khisrov MUHAMMAD ARIF, a 24-year-old from Etobicoke, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Obstruct peace officer
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
Further, Ajmain RAHMAN, a 28-year-old from North York, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
