On October 16, 2025, at approximately 7:45 am, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local emergency response, responds to a Box truck vs Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) collision on Wellington Road 124, just north of Whitelaw Road, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

No injuries were reported at the scene, but both drivers were assessed medically by EMS as a precaution.

As a result of the collision, Wellington Road 124 was closed from Whitelaw Road and Fife Road, as a result of heavy debris and liquid leaking from both motor vehicles but has since reopened.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old of Guelph has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving.
