DRIVER FACES CHARGES FOR STUNT DRIVING
Three Charges Laid
(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - Fergus resident faces three charges stemming from a Stunt Driving investigation.
On March 10, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were performing a proactive traffic enforcement when a motor vehicle was spotted travelling at a high rate of speed, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Wellington Road 123 within the Town of Minto.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Fergus was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following:
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 1 - 49 km/h over posted limit
- Defective braking system
Anyone charged with ‘drive motor vehicle - perform stunt’ receives a 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30 day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the provincial offences court - Guelph, at a later date
