OPP Seeking Public Assistance
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in recent shoplifting incidents in Fergus.
On February 12, 2026, at approximately 5:45 pm, a member of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report of two theft incidents at a business on St. David Street North in Fergus. The incidents occurred on January 20, 2026, at approximately 11:15 am, and February 9, 2026, at approximately 12:00 pm, involving the same suspect.
On each date, the suspect entered the store, concealed sport trading cards, and left the premises without making any attempts to pay. The total loss is approximately $250.00.
The OPP is investigating this incident and is looking to identify one person of interest and vehicle involved.
Suspect is described as:
- white
- male
- 6’ tall
- average build
- wearing high visibility construction clothing and a black hat
Suspect vehicle is described as:
- white
- Buick
- sedan
- Ontario licence plate: CCTX937
