THEFT INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN FIVE CHARGES

Repeat Offender Caught

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest a suspect in connection with a series of repeated thefts at a local business.

On March 18, 2026, at approximately 3:45 pm, the Wellington County OPP respond to a report of a theft of alcoholic beverages at a local business within Centre Wellington Township, with the suspect still present and attempting to flee.

Officers quickly attended to the area, located the suspect involved and placed them under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew PHILLIPS, a 38-year-old from Markham is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Theft Under $5000 - Shoplifting (five counts)

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on June 12, 2026.
