(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) - a youth is charged following an investigation in Mount Forest.
On January 9, 2026, at approximately 9:30 am, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a vehicle theft from a residence in Mount Forest.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
