TWO DRIVERS FACING CHARGES FOR STUNT DRIVING IN ERIN

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - Two drivers have been charged following a traffic stop in Erin.

On May 29, 2026, at approximately 2:45 pm, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic enforcement on Wellington Road 124 within the Town of Erin, when they observed two vehicles travelling well above the posted speed limit, one behind the other. A traffic stop was conducted on both vehicles.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Fergus, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old from Mississauga, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit

Both drivers are scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.

Both drivers received a 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
