DISTURBANCE IN MOUNT FOREST LEADS TO ARREST
Five Charges Laid
(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) - An individual has been charged following an incident in Mount Forest.
On March 1, 2026, at approximately 3:45 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a disturbance at an address on King Street East in Mount Forest.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
While in police custody, the accused became aggressive and was further charged with:
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
- Assault a Peace Officer (two counts)
The accused remains in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
The accused’s name is being withheld, out of concern for their well being.
