INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE IN WELLINGTON COUNTY

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals were arrested yesterday following intimate partner violence incidents in Wellington County.
On March 29, 2026, at approximately 12:00 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a disturbance at an address in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old from Guelph-Eramosa, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault with a weapon - spousal
- Assault with a weapon
- Mischief - domestic (two counts)
- Uttering threats - damage property
Two individuals sustained minor injuries.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on a later date.
Additionally, on March 29, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a disturbance at an address in Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old from Erin, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault
- Mischief under $5,000
There were no reported injuries.
The accused remains in police custody, pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
