INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - Intimate partner violence investigation in Centre Wellington Township results in five charges.
On October 31, 2025, at approximately 11:45 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance at an address within the Township of Centre Wellington.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old from Salem is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault
There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on a later date.
Further, on November 1, 2025, at approximately 4:30 pm, the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of another disturbance at the same address within the Township of Centre Wellington.
As a result of the investigation, the same individual is charged under the Criminal Code with additional offences:
- Assault with a weapon
- Failure to comply with undertaking (two counts)
- Mischief under $5,000
The victim sustained minor injuries.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
