WELLINGTON RIDE PROGRAM RESULTS IN 7-DAY LICENCE SUSPENSION
Driver Information Provided
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - A Fergus driver faces a licence suspension following a RIDE program.
On March 25, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check to examine the sobriety of drivers on Garafraxa Street East in Fergus.
A vehicle entered the RIDE Program, and officers demanded the driver provide a sample of their breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD), which registered a warn range “alert”. As a result, a 33-year-old from Fergus has received a 7-day driver’s licence suspension.
