INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - An Elora resident is facing charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.
On June 1, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to the report of a disturbance at an address on Elora.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old from Elora, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault - spousal (two counts)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
