IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED IN PUSLINCH
Seven Charges Laid
(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) - A Guelph driver have been charged with several offences following a traffic stop.
On April 14, 2026, at approximately 9:30 pm, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic patrol on Wellington Road 36 in Morriston, when they initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer suspected the driver to be impaired.
As a result of the investigation, Sory DIARRA, a 31-year-old from Guelph, is charged under the Criminal Code, the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 26, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
