STUNT DRIVING IN WELLINGTON COUNTY

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Two motorists were removed from Wellington County roadways yesterday as a result of stunt driving.
On April 23, 2026, at approximately 10:30 am, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting proactive traffic enforcement on Wellington Road 109 within Wellington North Township, when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
As a result of the investigation, a 61-year-old from Toronto, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
Additionally, on April 23, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, a member of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic patrol on Wellington Road 5 in Minto Township, when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated, at which time the vehicle was observed to be in an unsafe condition.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Drive with window coated - view obstructed
- Drive with windshield coated - view obstructed
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
