IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED FOLLOWING BACK-TO-BACK COLLISIONS

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) - A Maryhill driver is facing impaired charges following two collisions in Wellington North.
On January 1, 2026, at approximately 6:00 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a suspected impaired driver from a concerned member of the public, following a single-vehicle collision into a ditch at Line 12 and Sideroad 7 in Wellington North Township. The vehicle was towed from the ditch, however ended up back into the ditch shortly after, requiring another tow.
As a result of the investigation, Andrew SNYDER, a 33-year-old from Maryhill, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Liquor Licence and Control Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 16, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
