YOUTH FACING CHARGES FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION IN MOUNT FOREST

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) - A Fergus driver is charged following a traffic stop on Wellington Road 18.
On January 21, 2026, at approximately 7:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an incident at an address in Mount Forest.
As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Administer noxious thing
- Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
- Failure to comply with Undertaking
The victim did not sustain any injuries.
The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was held in police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
