TWO INDIVIDUALS CHARGED FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - Two Fergus residents have been charged following a traffic stop on in Fergus.
On December 21, 2025, at approximately 9:15 pm, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting proactive traffic enforcement on St. Patrick Street West in Fergus when they located a vehicle to be committing an offence under the Highway Traffic Act.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old from Fergus, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Amber light - fail to stop
- Drive while under suspension
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused was released from police custody and will appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph on a later date.
Additionally, passenger, Carly GAMBLE-KNECHTEL, a 32-year-old from Fergus, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
