STUNT DRIVING IN WELLINGTON COUNTY

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Several drivers were charged over the weekend for stunt driving within Wellington County.
On April 11, 2026, at approximately 12:00 am, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting proactive traffic patrol on the Hanlon Parkway (Highway 6) in Guelph, when they initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old from Kingsville, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
Additionally, on April 11 at approximately 3:00 pm, a member of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was conducting proactive traffic patrol at Wellington Road 36 and Currie Drive within Puslinch Township, when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old from Brampton, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
Further, on April 12, 2026, at approximately 10:45 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting proactive traffic enforcement on Wellington Road 107 near Charles Street West within Wellington North Township, when they observed a vehicle travelling nearly double the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old from Milton, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
