EXCESS SPEED ON HIGHWAY 6 LEADS TO STUNT CHARGE

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - A Cambridge driver is charged following a traffic stop on Highway 6.
On January 30, 2026, at approximately 2:15 pm, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting proactive traffic enforcement at Highway 6 and Wellington Road 22, outside of Fergus, when they found a vehicle to be travelling at a high rate of speed.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Cambridge, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
A 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
