SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(MAPLETON TWP, ON) - On June 7, 2025, at approximately 2:30 pm Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with other emergency services, responded to a collision at McGivern Street near Booth Street in Moorefield.
It was reported that a single motor vehicle had collided with a pole.
The lone occupant was transported by ambulance to a local hospital as a precaution.
As a result of the investigation, Patrick Anthony HAGEL, 84-years-old of Mapleton Township, was charged with Operation While Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, on June 17, 2025.
