Three Charges Laid
(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) - Impaired driver arrested, driver facing three charges.
On April 5, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Brock Road South within Puslinch Township.
As a result of the investigation, Troy McCartney, a 31-year-old of Puslinch is charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on May 15, 2026.
