OPP INVESTIGATING COLLISION IN MINTO
Cyclist Airlifted to Hospital
(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - One person has been injured following a collision in Minto.
On May 24, 2026, at approximately 2:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local paramedic services, local fire services and the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team, responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision, involving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and a cyclist on Highway 89, between Wellington Road 6 and O’Dwyers Road within the Town of Minto.
An 18-year-old cyclist was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital as a pre-caution.
Highway 89 between Wellington Road 6 and O’Dwyers Road was closed and has since re-opened.
