(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit lay several provincial offences in relation to a traffic stop.

On September 11, 2025, at approximately 11:15 am, members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a motor vehicle travelling with an insecure load, and initiated a traffic stop on Wellington Road 7 within Centre Wellington Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old from Mount Forest is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Insecure load
  • Improper means of attachment
  • No directional signals

The accused was also given warnings under the Highway Traffic Act and the Tobacco Tax Act for:

  • Drive motor vehicle in contravention of conditions
  • Possession of unmarked cigarettes
