TWO IMPAIRED DRIVERS ARRESTED YESTERDAY IN FERGUS

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - Two drivers have been arrested for impaired driving in Fergus yesterday.
On November 25, 2025, at approximately 3:30 pm, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) conducted a traffic stop of a suspected impaired driver at Parkside Drive West and St. David Street North in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, William BEATTIE, a 61-year-old from Fergus, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 9, 2025.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
Just four hours later, on November 25, 2025, at approximately 7:30 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP TMU received information from a neighbouring police service of a suspected impaired driver. Police located the driver on Sideroad 10 outside of Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, Michiel VANDERKEMP, a 48-year-old from Fergus, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 9, 2025.
