FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION

Charges Laid

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) - Fail to remain collision results in other driver being located away from scene, two charges laid.

On April 27, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a two motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway 6 and Wellington Road 7, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

When officers arrived on scene, the investigation revealed that a dark coloured sedan had collided into a pickup truck and then fled the scene in a northbound direction.

After further information was obtained from nearby witnesses, the investigation led to officers attending a nearby property and locating the sedan in question, with heavy front end damage, and ultimately locating the driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Fail to remain
  • Careless Driving

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph at a later date.

No injuries were reported.
