INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - an individual is charged following an incident in Erin.
On February 22, 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an altercation at an address within Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old from Erin, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault with a weapon - spousal
The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for assessment.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on a later date.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
