CHARGES LAID FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - A Dundalk driver is charged following a traffic stop outside of Fergus.
On March 13, 2026, at approximately 8:00 am, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conductive proactive traffic control on Wellington Road 16, outside of Fergus, when they observed a vehicle driving well above the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from Dundalk is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 147 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph on June 17, 2026.
An additional 30 day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
