(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Several snowmobilers were charged yesterday, after riding off trail.

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 2:00 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting proactive motorized snow vehicle patrol on an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) Trail near Erin when they encountered a snowmobile operator riding off trail.

A 22-year-old from Orangeville is charged under the Trespass to Property Act with:

  • Enter Premises when entry prohibited

Additionally, on February 16, 2026, at approximately 4:15 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP TMU were conducting proactive motorized snow vehicle patrol on an OFSC trail near Armstrong Mills within Guelph-Eramosa Township when they located two snowmobile operators going off trail and cutting through a field.

A 17-year-old from Guelph is charged under the Trespass to Property Act with:

  • Enter Premises when entry prohibited
