SEARCH WARRANT RESULTS IN ARREST

Stolen Property Recovered - Over $3000 of Illegal drugs Seized

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - A search warrant results in an arrest, with stolen property being recovered and over $3000 worth of illegal drugs seized.

On March 9, 2026, at approximately 9:45 am, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a stolen property report, involving several musical instruments and tools being stolen from a storage unit within the Town of Erin, back in September 2024.

The investigation revealed that the victim had a wireless location-tracking device on one of the stolen items, which led to an address within the City of Brampton, and the victim now contacting police since the historical theft.

On May 14, 2026, the Wellington County OPP Community Streets Crimes Unit (CSCU), alongside uniform patrol, attended an address within the City of Brampton and executed a search warrant.

As a result of the investigation, Manpreet PADDA, a 42-year-old of Brampton, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - Heroin

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on August 7, 2026.

Police recovered the victims’ stolen musical instruments and property, worth an estimated value of $4,500, as well as seizing quantities of suspected methamphetamine and suspected heroin, with the estimated potential street value of $3,490.
