(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Mount Forest resident with five provincial charges stemming from a traffic stop.

On July 11, 2025, at approximately 2:30 am, members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, to which a traffic stop was initiated on Wellington Road 7, within Guelph-Eramosa Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old from Mount Forest is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed - community zone
  • Speeding - community safety zone
  • Drive motor vehicle - no licence
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to have insurance card

Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30 day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the provincial offences court - Guelph, at a later date
