Pedestrian Struck
(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) - Police on scene with a motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 and Frederick Street within Arthur, involving a pedestrian being struck.
On April 9, 2026, at approximately 12:00 pm, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a pedestrian and their dog was struck by a tractor-trailer while attempting to cross Highway 6 within the Town of Arthur.
It was reported that the tractor-trailer was heading northbound on Highway 6 and attempting to turn right, eastbound onto Frederick Street East, when the pedestrian and their dog was struck. The pedestrian has since been transported by air ambulance to a trauma centre with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The dog was declared deceased.
All roads within the immediate vicinity of Highway 6 and Frederick Street East are closed as a result of the collision, but are expected to reopen shortly.
